I was adopted by a Minnesota dairy farm family and grew up with seven siblings, including four who were also adopted. During my youth, I earned national recognition as a Greco-Roman wrestler and was an Academic All-American football player.

I have been married to Lisa for 25 years, and we are proud parents of three children, including two Somerset graduates.

With a strong background in education, I have 10 years of experience as a public school teacher, 5 years as a college instructor, and have also taught in a homeschool co-op.

My academic credentials include a BS in Technology Education, a BS in Biblical Studies, an MS in Curriculum & Instruction, and doctoral studies in Work, Community and Family Education.
